I'm a jammer who loves the game and wants to prevent as much as possible from becoming lost media.
History
I've been playing Animal Jam Classic since May 2015, and I joined AJPW a few months later! I played both games on and off for the last couple of years.
I was invested in the game as quickly as Peck's lightning flashed in the new jammer introduction. I was entranced by this beautiful and mysterious fantasy world. The gorgeous backgrounds, the mystical music, and most importantly, the storyline. The adventures were always my favorite part of the game, and I would spend hours watching lore and theory videos on YouTube.
In 2022, the game became stale to me. Classic hadn't had a story-related update since 2018. My friends were quitting, and I had stopped actively logging onto AJPW and was ignorant of the ongoing lore events that could have kept me interested in the franchise. I was growing older and trying to step away from the fandom to focus on other things. I kept Animal Jam in a special place in my heart, but did not actively engage with it.
THEN GREELY RETIRED? 2023. By chance of fate, I had seen an Instagram post about the sudden absence of Greely. I didn't believe it until I logged onto the game and saw for myself. His retirement completely shook my view of everything I had thought I knew about the Animal Jam lore. I returned to Animal Jam in late November of 2023 with the intention of relearning the entirety of the AJ lore from scratch. I figured it would take me a month tops. It did not take me a month tops. I developed a special interest in the game. Now I need to know everything about it. Save me from myself.
Current Project
I am currently working on a database to hold and organize everything about the Animal Jam lore. I have spent so much time working towards archiving the past, I have been slacking on archiving the present. I have created this blog to help me organize and keep track of the current updates, so I don't need to worry about them in the future.
